Mazuri® Tortoise Diet LS is best for arid-zone and grassland herbivorous tortoises and lizards. Such as the Aldabra, African spurred/sulcate tortoise, desert tortoise, Egyptian tortoise, Galapagos, gopher, Greek, leopard, pancake, radiated or Russian tortoises. It can be fed to chuckwalla and uromastyx lizards as well.

• Feed tortoises between 1 – 4% of their body weight per day. o A 10 lb. (4.5 kg) tortoise will typically consume between 1/2 cup (45 g) to 2 cups (180 g) per day depending on activity level, environmental temperatures, and life stage. • It is not necessary to moisten pellets with water. However, soaking the product may help to acclimate tortoises to the diet. If moistened, the diet should be replaced at least twice daily. • Provide good quality forage such as grass hay or browse and fresh, clean water daily. • Fresh fruits and vegetables may be provided, but at no more than 20% of the total diet. • Thoroughly wash feed and water bowls on a regular basis. It is always good practice to wash hands thoroughly after feeding and/or handling animals. This diet is not for human consumption.
When introducing a new food or treat, it's best to allow your pet to adjust gradually. For new food, we recommend a 7-day transition. Begin with a 75:25 ratio of old to new food on Day 1 and Day 2, shifting to a 50:50 mix on Day 3 and Day 4, and a 25:75 balance on Day 5 and Day 6. By Day 7, your pet can fully enjoy their new food. For treats, remember to feed them sparingly — they should constitute no more than 10% of your pet's daily caloric intake. Monitor your pet for any unusual reactions when introducing a new treat. Treats are not a substitute for balanced, complete meals.
Important: Always provide reptiles with adequate natural light or a light source that supplies sufficient UV radiation between the wavelengths of 280 and 315 nm. Proper humidity levels are also critical for health and growth of reptiles. For best results
